After breakfast, we will drive to the North of Quito, along the Panamericana highway, our first stop will be QUITSATO, an archeological site located on the Equatorial line, where we will have the opportunity to know about the ancestral astronomy (solar watch) that it seems was very well knows by the QUITUS-CARAS Indian. Lately, we will continue to Cayambe, where we will enjoy and taste the famous and delicious “bizcochos” (it is a typical local specialty of this area; it is type of cracked bread oven).
Our next stop is the famous Otavalo market, the most colorful Indian market in South America. In this market you will find many type of crafts, tapestries, native paintings, hand-knitted wool sweaters, wood carvings, silver jewelry, woolen and straw hats.
Afterwards, we will continue to Cotacachi, it’s a famous town, well known for its finest handmade leather clothing. In this town we, will have time to lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit Peguche a nice small village, to visit Music House, where we will learn and enjoy the sounds of Andean musical instruments.
