How to get?
The Rio Canandé Reserve is located approximately 5 hours by car from Quito. Take the route Quito – Calacalí – Puerto Quito. From this last town take the detour on the road of second order to the town of Las Golondrinas. Then head to the towns of La Te and reach up Zapallo town. There, take the right turn towards to the River Canandé of Puerto Nuevo where you need to take the barge to cross the river with the company Botrosa. (You MUST have a permit signed by the FJ from Quito to pass the barge in Puerto Nuevo is required). Once crossed the river, continue to the Reserve, is 45 minutes down the road to Hoja Blanca. You will find the signs of the Foundation 2 kilometers before reaching the latter village.
